Agreement on the importation of Roquefort cheese in Australia [ fr ]

The Ambassador of France to Australia, H.E. Stéphane Romatet and Doctor Narelle Clegg, Assistant Secretary at the Department for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry have signed on the 10th of February 2012 a Memorendum of Understanding between the French and Australian governments in order to facilitate the importation of Roquefort cheese in Australia.

France and Australia had already concluded a bilateral agreement relative to the inspection and certification systems for the importation of Roquefort cheese on the Australian territory in December 2008. The document agreed on covered a three-year period.

The new document signed today by the French and Australian authorities renews the current scheme for the next five years and will ensure that Roquefort cheese remains available to Australian consumers.
