Since 2003, the French Embassy in Australia, in association with the Australian Academy of Science, has co-organised a mobility grant program for early career researchers in France and Australia. The Scientific Mobility Program will replace the former Cotutelle Travel Grant Program in 2013.
This call for proposals is open to early career researchers of all nationalities who meet the following criteria. Applicants must be:
undertaking a joint PhD project (cotutelle) between a French university and an Australian university, or undertaking a postdoctoral position in either France or Australia, or have previously held a postdoctoral position in either France or Australia which ceased on or before 31 December 2010;
conducting or developing research which favours research collaborations between France and Australia.
The Scientific Mobility Program 2013 will provide funding of up to 2,500 AUD maximum per recipient towards international travel to Australia for French early career researchers and to France for Australian early career researchers. The initial leg of travel must be completed by 31 December 2013. Grants cannot be deferred in the event that the recipient is unable to meet these requirements.
Please note that the grant is offered as a reimbursement only. Recipients may request reimbursement upon completion of the first leg of their return journey, upon presentation of their travel invoice and boarding pass to Ms Tanya Weston at the Australian Academy of Science, responsible for all administrative and financial matters relating to the grants. Please note that grant recipients will be responsible for their own living expenses during their research stay.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please include a signed copy of the cotutelle agreement, or a signed copy of the postdoctoral contract, whichever is applicable.
The application, available for download here, must be submitted to the Embassy of France in Australia no later than 28 February 2013, either by email to science.canberra-amba(a)diplomatie.gouv.fr or by post to Ms Majella Christensen at the address below.
